2016 Scholarship Winner

GastingerWalker& is pleased to announce that Eric Janes, 5th year architecture student at Kansas State University, has been selected as the recipient of the firm’s 2016 scholarship. This year marks the 25th anniversary of GastingerWalker&’s Scholarship program.
The scholarship was established to commemorate the firm’s 10th anniversary in 1991 and assist a fifth-year architecture student in financial need with first semester’s tuition, books and supplies for the academic year. GastingerWalker& has given over $50,000 in scholarship money since the program’s inception in 1991. The 2016 scholarship was available to a Missouri, Kansas or Arkansas residents attending the fall fifth year architecture program at Kansas State University. In 2017, the scholarship will go to a student at the University of Kansas and it will rotate between the three states thereafter. The scholarship for 2016 will be $2,000. The following students have been recipients of the scholarship over the past twenty five years:

Two out of the twenty five students who have been awarded the scholarship are currently part of the GastingerWalker& team. Melissa Brown, AIA, LEED AP was awarded the scholarship in 2003 and has been with the firm since 2011 and Matt Gearheart, Associate AIA received the scholarship in 1997 and has been with the firm since 1998.
