MMGY approached GastingerWalker& while relocating their Global Headquarters from the Plaza to a new multi-story, mixed-use building in downtown Overland Park. The new location is part of the “Edison District,” where MMGY occupies the 5th and a portion of its 4th floor.
Their design concept is centered around the “client experience” as they are met on the 4th floor by a concierge style greeting. This space consists of an open-concept break room and collaboration area with a large boardroom featuring sliding retractable glass doors that allow employees to gather for town-hall meetings. There are also smaller meeting rooms where MMGY can meet with clients and a row of built-in booth alcoves for private work, one-on-one sessions, or a place to take a quick break. An internal open staircase connects the 4th floor to the 5th floor, where full glass-front offices feature sliding glass doors on the interior. The majority of the open office spaces on this floor have a sealed concrete floor and exposed ceilings. Decorative felt ceiling and wall features balance the hard surfaces, address office acoustics, and provide on-brand design elements
