Overland Park, Kansas | 8,000 SF | Renovation/Tenant Improvements

The design directive from Microsoft is that all office spaces should be human-centric. They should be approachable and casual with a familiar feel, like coming home. To achieve this, the design team created a hospitality-level experience for the office, featuring heavier textures, more layering of elements, and more detail than the average office,. As Microsoft frequently hosts clients, special attention was paid to the guest experience in the office by creating an inviting and functional lobby and break out space for guests to use at their convenience, similar to a hotel lobby concept. Supporting all of the functional spaces was the concept of bringing the outside in and infusing the space with nature. Particular attention was paid to capturing views throughout the exterior windows, as well as integrating live plants into most of the room scapes. Focal points within the space are all emphasized with the use of preserved moss wall features. The overall space is highly functional, with technology integrated throughout, but feels like a visit to a neighborhood café.
