AMBULATORY SURGERY CENTER

Mansfield, Texas | 9,000 SF | Tenant Improvements

The project was to design and construct a new ambulatory surgery center on a portion of the 4th floor of a new medical office building on the Methodist Mansfield health campus. The Methodist Mansfield Medical Center was adjacent to the site. An existing elevator was replaced with a larger elevator within the medical office building to accommodate patient stretchers to the 4th floor/surgery center. The building structural system and floors were modified at each floor level to accommodate the larger elevator and hoist way. Other existing systems serving the medical office building posed challenges as well. Existing ductwork, piping, and electrical services on the 4th floor had to stay in place, thus dictating surgery standards, including door hardware, access controls, and other system integration. The operating rooms and minor procedure rooms included complex ceiling-mounted boom systems for lighting, anesthesia, and monitoring. These items required extensive coordination by the design and construction team to ensure meeting the product standards.
