CORPORATE OFFICE - 922 WALNUT

Kansas City, Missouri | 14,000 SF | Renovation/Tenant Improvements

Commerce Bank approached us with a desire to design a space that would appeal to the next generation workforce. The 14th floor is the front of house for recruiting a new younger workforce and this is reflected throughout the design by bringing in bright colors, an open ceiling with wood accents, and low workstations. To allow both light and create new work spaces, all offices are on the interior - with collaboration spaces located around the ‘core’ traffic areas to encourage conversation between departments.

CORPORATE OFFICE - 1000 WALNUT

With the high quantity of private offices required and the configuration of the building floor plan, the design concept aligned all enclosed offices along the day-lighted perimeter exterior wall. Glass sidelights in the enclosed offices allowed daylight to spill into the interior open office space. The efficiency of the workplace layout was increased by eliminating double-loaded corridors and creating an open space plan to accommodate future growth.

TRUST COMPANY

Kansas City, Missouri | 300,000 SF | Historic Renovation/Tenant Improvements

A complete renovation of the existing building, including the historic Walnut Street Bank Lobby and monumental stair, restored the historic site to its original grandeur. Improvements to the 100-year-old building, on the National Register of Historic Places included new mechanical and electrical systems. By infilling the existing light well on floors four through 15, the floor plate arrangement’s efficiency and flexibility for use as modern office spaces increased. Exterior work included roof and window replacement and repair of the masonry and stone façade.

BROOKSIDE BRANCH

Kansas City, Missouri | 4,300 SF | New Building

The original branch bank, located in the heart of the Brookside neighborhood business district, was replaced and relocated closer to the street. The move improved access to the site while increasing parking and strengthening the bank’s presence on the corner. The new building was designed to fit on the site while the existing building remained in the place and operational, thus reducing the facility closure from one year to only three months. The existing bank was demolished at the end of construction to allow for the new parking lot and geothermal production wells to be installed.

COLUMBIA BRANCH

Columbia, Missouri | 24,000 SF | Historic Renovation/Tenant Improvements

A second floor was inserted into the existing building structure to increase the office area. A double height space at the front remains for the banking lobby. This facility houses a retail banking branch along with non-retail banking services and support personnel for various banking operations. The south and west facades are historical and are being renovated. The north façade was remodeled with stucco, zinc panels and a butt glazed ATM vestibule. A new entrance with a wheelchair lift was added for accessibility.
